Robert Crispe is a regional Australian filmmaker and artist from Gurambilbarra (Townsville, QLD).
For a long time, Cripse has been experimenting with analog mediums, exploring the link between his physical creations and the moving image. His approach to work is grounded in change that seeks self-acceptance and importance within a forever expanding, dangerous and diverse universe.
Crispe has a Bachelor of New Media Art with a major in Digital Visual Art and is currently Content Director and Producer at Vetta Creative. Commercially, Crispe has worked alongside creative teams as a Director and Editor for branded content in London and Sydney on a number of award-winning campaigns. Independently his short form documentary work has been featured on the ABC and has been selected for screening at international film festivals. In addition, Crispe’s time-based media has been exhibited in local and international exhibitions, most notable ‘Art After Dark’ Vero Beach Museum of Art, Florida USA, an exhibition that looked at how projected light can re-shape architectural space and derive new experiences within the built environment.
Crispe is currently working on several projects from early-stage film development, writing, to illustrating and constructing paper puppets for his established stop-motion short film, as well as several other exhibitions, and time-based media projects.
